Practical Research Skills for Arts Faculty students
This class is a practical follow up of the Library's Study Smart orientation presentation. Learn how interpret assignment topics and find information from the Monash databases. This is a hands-on session in a computer lab.

This class is a practical follow up of the Library's Study Smart orientation presentation. Learn how interpret assignment topics and find information from the Monash catalogue and databases. This is a hands-on session in a computer lab.

This class is a practical follow up of the Library's Study Smart orientation presentation. Learn how interpret assignment topics and find information from the Monash databases. This is a hands-on session in a computer lab.

Beginning of semester classes

Smart Search : using the library catalogue
Learn how to use the library catalogue to find books and journals, online material and items from your unit reading list. Also, to renew your loans, place a Hold on an item, and request items to be sent from another campus. The class includes time for hands-on practice and runs for approximately 50 minutes. For those interested, a tour of the Library and Learning Commons will follow. The 10 minute tour includes demonstrations of the printing system, adding value to your ID card for printing and copying, and how to borrow your own books using the Self Loans terminal.

Super Search : mastering library databases
Learn how to effectively search databases to find academic journals on your topic. The class includes time for hands-on practice using a given topic, or an assignment topic of your choice. Classes run for approximately 1 hour.
