Book description
The law relating to criminal evidence is the most rapidly changing subject in the field of criminal law. The fourth edition of Criminal Evidence covers all recent changes in the area of criminal evidence up to January 1, 1999. In particular, there is a full analysis and discussion of the relevant parts of the Human Rights Act 1998, which enacts in United Kingdom law the European Convention on Human Rights, and the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996, which substantially alters the law relating to disclosure. Recent important developments in case law are also included.

No criminal practitioner can afford to be without Criminal Evidence, specially in view of the fundamental changes to English criminal trials which the Human Rights Act is expected to make.

Previous editions of Criminal Evidence have been praised by reviewers for the author's clear and practical approach to a complex subject. The fourth edition is as lucid in style as its predecessors. Criminal Evidence is an essential book for all those with an interest in criminal law.
