This new Australian text prescribes a simple methodology for
conducting a business 'improvement' project that employs a range of techniques
that span various disciplines. A new and simple modelling approach for
business case development is described and demonstrated. Students are
taught to apply both management and IT knowledge and skills to business
problems. The topics covered are equally relevant to management and engineering
students who will be working in a competitive business environment.
The text is aimed specifically at third year or final year students in
an undergraduate (preferably IT or Business/Management) degree. However,
general readers outside this market should be able to follow the contents.

About the author
Dr. Yen Cheung is a senior lecturer in the School of Business
Systems at Monash University. Dr. Cheung's research interests are
in the areas of business IT management and intelligent business systems.
Ian Martin is a lecturer in the School of Business Systems and co-ordinates
the School of Business Systems Industry-based Learning Program at Monash
University.
