Health and human behaviour : an introduction Ken Jones Published by Oxford University Press (2003) |
Book description
Each of us experiences health and illness as essential conditions of life.
This book examines the interactions between the person and the experience of
being well or ill. It looks at the impact of being well or ill on the thoughts,
feelings and behaviour of the person, and the effects that thoughts, feelings
and behaviours may have on health. It is designed to be readable and integrated
and is focused on the situation of the individual within a social context.
Cases are used to illustrate the content of each chapter, and provide interest
for the reader. Entry level students in the health professions, particularly
those with patient contact such as medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, radiography,
dietetics, occupational therapy and communications should find this textbook
a valuable resource.
