The legal protection of databases
By Mark J. Davison
Published by Cambridge University Press (2003)

Book description

This book examines various legal models designed for the protection of databases. In particular it considers the European Union (EU) Directive on the Legal Protection of Databases 1996, the history of its adoption and its transposition into national laws. Davison compares the Directive with a range of American legislative proposals, as well as the principles of misappropriation that are behind them.

In addition, the book also contains a commentary on the appropriateness of the various models in the context of arguments for an international agreement on the topic.
