Book description
Henderson, Peirson and Harris’ Financial Accounting Theory
provides students with a history and context to current accounting
procedures in an accessible and user friendly manner. The authors encourage
students to see the accounting profession as a continuum. Students are thus
given the tools to understand the bigger picture and be able to assess and
analyse current accounting processes and trends in the discipline. As the
authors comment: “A knowledge of past theoretical work will help the
accountant to select the most appropriate new procedure and to understand
it. Accounting theory influences future professional directions. [Pearson
