In A fatal conjunction Kimm discusses the extent and nature of thehigh levels of violence experienced by Aboriginal women in their owncommunities. She explores its underlying causes, current policies thatdeal with it, and changes that may improve these policies. Kimm arguesthat current law and policy place too much emphasis on Aboriginal women's rightsas Indigenous people and too little on their rights as women.
About the Author
Joan Kimm was a member of staff of the Law Faculty at Monash University. She is now undertaking a Ph.D. in the Law Faculty.
