Book description
This is a selection of papers from the conference on "Globalisation and labour mobility in India and China" held in Melbourne, Australia. The focus of the conference was the issues that Amitabh Kundu's 2000 edited volume Inequality Mobility and Urbanisation: China and India raised: the effects of globalisation of movement of labour from traditional agriculture to low productive manufacturing and tertiary activities, rural urban migration and restructuring the settlement hierarchy through the emergence of a few global centres.
