Book description
The structure of the book is multi-folded. At the outset, by introducing several Deleuzean concepts, and specifically his concept of 'becoming',
the author addresses the problematics of language and individuation, or
production of subjectivity, which, as Deleuze posited, is to be considered
collective and populated by both the psychic and the social dimensions.
As the author put it, this book would not have fulfilled its purpose if not
for the pragmatist legacy of Charles Sanders Peirce and John Dewey.
The book covers the relevance of Peirce's philosophy and his categories of
Firstness, Secondness and Thirdness as they pertain to Deleuze's
philosophical thinking. It also covers the examination of some works
by John Dewey in comparison with Deleuze's conceptual space. From
this, the author addresses the contemporary relevance and significance, as
well as plurality of meanings embedded in Dewey's naturalistic epistemology
and aesthetics.
