Book description
This volume - the first of three - grew out of, and forms part of, a larger study of the elite politics at the highest levels in Beijing which shaped China's dramatic transition during the 1972-82 decade. It provides an overview assessment of delete politics at the very end of Mao's lifetime, provides new source material and analysis, and focuses on the transition from revolution through restoration to reform.
