Book description
Health and Human Behaviour has been written with
entry-level students in the health professions, biomedical sciences, and
other health-related disciplines in mind. It is based on over thirty
five years of experience teaching students in these areas. The topics
in the book have been carefully selected to cover the range of relevant
psychological, physiological, and sociological concepts, without trying to
be comprehensive or detailed in the coverage of those concepts.
Its aim is to introduce concepts that students will need in a form that they
will find usable. The book is intended to attract readers without a
background in psychology and sociology to that material, and to provide
enough information for those readers in a clear form, without overwhelming
them with details of those disciplines. Readers who already have a
background in these disciplines may be able to skip over sections of the
material to focus on areas that are new to them.
This new edition has a couple of new chapters as well as expanded coverage
in a number of health areas.
