Emerald

There is no Direct Export function in Emerald. Use a filter file to import the chosen references. This involves two steps:

In Emerald, select references and create a text file

In Search Results list:

  1. Check the boxes of the references that you wish to download
  2. Click the Go button to the right of Add to the marked list:..
  3. Click Marked List (in the left of the screen) to display marked items.
  4. Click Download (ASCII)
  5. When new window opens, use your browser's 'Save As' function to save records as a Text Document (*.txt)

In EndNote, select filter file, import the text file

  1. Open the library you want to add the references to
  2. In the toolbar, click File > Import. The Import dialog box will open
  3. Click Choose File, find the .txt file you created, and click Open
  4. Click the Import Option dropdown arrow; then in the list, Other Filters.
  5. To locate the Emerald filter file in the filter file list, in Quick Search, type: emerald and press Enter. Highlight Emerald, then click Choose
  6. Click Import in the dialog box. The references should be transferred into the open library.
