Proxy server settings

Users within Monash University may find it necessary to install the Monash Socks Proxy Service (Permeo) client. Problems connecting to databases or establishing direct export from databases when using EndNote would be indicators that this change is necessary.

Install the file, then change browser proxy settings to:

Internet Explorer

• open IE
• go to Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN settings, ensure you have nothing ticked in this window
• close IE

Netscape Navigator

• open NN
• go to Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Proxies and ensure you have 'direct connection to the internet' ticked
• close NN
