Finding publications in Monash University Libraries
Many government publications including reports and serials, are in the
library catalogue and can be found using the appropriate search - Author,
Title or Subject. To find all the publications held by a particular government
body do a 'Basic Search' using the 'Author' option in the drop down menu.
This will include serial publications.
Ask at the Information Desk if you are having difficulties finding a
report as many are included in the Parliamentary
papers series and not individually listed in the library catalogue.

Libraries Australia, formerly Kinetica, is now one of the main sources
for locating Commonwealth government publications held in Australian
libraries. The National Bibliographic Database (NBD) which is one
of the main databases accessible in Libraries Australia, includes the
holdings of all major Australian libraries. To search, choose Advanced
Search, select 'Government' in the Limits below the search boxes. Type
in keywords from the title of the publication, choosing Title as the
option from the drop down list. This will however include Commonwealth
and State governments. You can limit to Australian government publications
by selecting 'Australia' as one of the limits.
The Guide me option in Command Search can be sued to do search for government
publications by state, federal or international. For more help
with this option ask at the information desk.

or follow links to existing online publication resources. Searches
lead to information about distribution arrangements for publications
that were previously distributed through the Government Bookshop Network
(also known as the Info Access Network) which ceased operations in
October 2003.

and state governments of Australia received by the National Library.
This is a major bibliographical source for identifying parliamentary
publications; royal commissions; committee of inquiry reports; departmental
titles; serials and monographs. Until 1988 it was arranged by jurisdiction,
eg, commonwealth followed by states, and within jurisdiction by name
of department or agency, and within agency publications listed alphabetically
by title. From January 1988 to 98 it was produced on microfiche.
