About Gippsland Regional Clinical School libraries

The libraries are separate institutions, independent of the Monash University Library. In addition to hospital staff, the libraries support and resource the learning, teaching and research activities of staff and students based at Gippsland Regional Clinical School sites.

Who may borrow from these libraries

• site based Monash University and Honorary staff and postgraduate students
• site based Monash University MBBS students
• locally based ambulance officers

Loans

• Eligible users require a current Monash University staff or student ID card. Ask at the desk to register before borrowing.
• Each library has its own collection and loans system. The loan status (ie availability) shown in the Monash University Library catalogue may not be accurate and the item may not be available on the shelves.
• Monash University Library materials at these sites are not available for intercampus loan.
• Site based Monash University MBBS students may request books and audiovisual material from branch libraries through the Monash University Library catalogue. Items are sent to the hospital library for collection.

Guidelines for use

The library staff provide support to staff and student groups listed above. Library staff are able to provide limited assistance only to the following groups:

• Monash University staff and students with no other connection to the Regional Clinical School
• other Monash borrowers, such as CAVAL or Alumni borrowers

Photocopying

• purchase a non-rechargeable photocopy card from the Loans desk
• 10c per copy

Staff and postgraduate students, including Honours students, can request items not available in their home library or online through the library's Document Delivery Service.
