Notes: The British Liberal Party was the dominant force in British politics for several periods in the Victorian age - and even when out of office it was led by giants.  William Ewart Gladstone, four times Liberal Prime Minister, is, with the exception of Queen Victoria herself, perhaps the best-known Victorian.

This collection comprises the pamphlets and leaflets of the British Liberal Party between 1884-1911.  During this crucial period in the party's history there were five Liberal Administrations, two of them led by Gladstone.  In addition the Earl of Rosebery was Prime Minister in 1894-95, Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman in 1905-08, and Herbert Asquith between 1908-15.

A complete listing of the documents together with an Author Index appear on fiche 1 and 2.  All documents on the listing have been numbered with a code indicating the year of issue and the number of each document within the year of issue.  The contents of each year is reproduced at the beginning of each specific year.
