Notes: This publication reproduces the programme and schedules and the official souvenir catalogue of the First Australian Exhibition of Women's Work, 1907. The exhibition was a major one running from October 23 to November 30, 1907. It was opened by Lady Northcote, wife of the then Governor-General. Exhibitors included professional and amateur craftswomen, and school children submitted entries in some categories. Items on display included paintings, needlework, millinery, dresses, laces, enamel work, book binding, carved furniture, and jams and dried fruit. There were also demonstrations of shorthand and typewriting, music, elocution, games and sports.
