Notes: Thomas Tanner (1674-1735) was a Fellow of All Soul's College, Oxford, Chancellor of the diocese of Norwich, and finally Bishop of St. Asaph. His collection of manuscripts forms one of Britain's finest individually assembled archives arranged in 4 parts. This is Part 1 of the Tanner Manuscripts in the Bodleian Library, Oxford.

The collected manuscripts of Bishop Tanner are of interest to students of any aspect of the sixteenth and seventeenth century.

A printed Bodleian catalogue is supplied with the film.  The contents of each volume are listed numerically.  There is an extensive subject index.
