Log-on for library computers simplified
The log on process for accessing the "Monash network" from library computers has been simplified. "Instead of having to type your whole "Novell" user name, including the full 'context', library users can now just type in their user name," said Senior PC Support Officer, David Brodrick. "This brings the library in line with the I.T. labs across the university and makes it simpler for people to gain access to the computers." "Approximately seventy per cent of library computers now require a Novell username and password for users to access services offered on those pc's." Computers requiring the log-in provide access to the internet and the library catalogue and databases, as well as to programs in the MS Office suite and university network drives. "Printing availability has also increased with network printing now available from ninety-five per cent of library pc's," said Mr Brodrick. 28 February, 2003 current news : 2008 : 2007 : 2006 : 2005 : 2004 : 2003 : 2002 : pre-2002 Ask a question Phone +61 3 9905 5054 or use our enquiry services ask.monash for Monash students and staff | ask.monash for visitors, or online chat. |
