More PC's and facilities upgrade for Caulfield LibraryThirty-seven additional computers and an improved area for group study will be the result of the refurbishment currently underway in the flexible learning area on level 3 of Caulfield Library. The refurbishment, now nearing completion, includes:
"Some of these improvements are complete and others will be finalised before students return for Semester two," said Caulfield Library manager, Robet Hornett. It is anticipated that a further 30 computers will be installed on the west side of level 3 later in Semester 2. "With so many more computers, students should experience a noticeable improvement to access," Mr Hornett said. "In addition to this we are pleased to be able to provide postgraduates with an improved study environment, now that the twelve postgraduate rooms on level four have also had computers and new desks installed." Refurbishment plans will bring the total number of computers for student use at Caulfield Library to 137 by the end of semester two. "This is a significant increase when you take into account the fact that at this time last year there were only 58 computers in the library for students," Mr Hornett said. The ongoing upgrade of facilities at Caulfield Library was initiated in response to campus growth and library users' feedback regarding facilities.
