New library publications help users |

Library users will benefit from a new suite of publications produced to help users to get the most out of the library. New publications include: ‘Library user's guide' The ‘Library user's guide is a pocket-sized, fold-out reference to commonly-sought information about the library, such as opening hours, branch locations, services, loans conditions, facilities and resources. The guide is suitable for all library users. It is available from all branches of the library and is also contained in the ‘Library user's toolkit'. Library users are invited to participate in a my.monash poll about the new ‘Library User's Guide'. ‘Library user's toolkit' The toolkit is a credit card sized, plastic wallet containing the ‘Library user's guide' and an information card containing ‘Tips to get you started at the library '. Additional sleeves are provided for photocopy and Monash identity cards. Toolkits are given to new students and staff when they collect their identity cards, or they are posted with ID cards to off-campus students. ‘Supporting your teaching activities' This is a brochure/poster for Monash teaching staff outlining library support for teaching activities. The brochure unfolds into an A3 poster, containing a succinct summary of services and important contacts within the library for staff to post on office and study area walls. The brochure is available from all branches of the library and is also sent to new academic staff upon commencing employment at Monash University. ‘Supporting your research activities' This is a brochure/poster for Monash staff and postgraduate students, outlining library support for research activities. The brochure unfolds into an A3 poster for postgraduates and staff to display in a handy spot in their office or study area. The brochure is available from all branches of the library and is sent to new academic staff upon commencing employment at Monash University. It is also contained, where possible, in information packs supplied to postgraduate students. “We have tried to find formats that people will want to keep because we are keen for our users to keep and refer back to the guides,” said library marketing and communications officer, Kerin Bryant.
