Get the Full Text More Easily

The library has introduced a new service designed to make it easier to find the full text of many of the thousands of journals Monash students and staff can access.

"One of the most commonly asked questions about our electronic resources is 'how do I get the full text?'," said Digital Resources Librarian, David Groenewegen, "and this initiative provides an easy answer for users searching our online databases."

When you find a record for an article you are interested in click on the "Links" button and it will take you to either the electronic journal, where you can access the full text of the article, or to a record in the library catalogue indicating where you might find the relevant journal.

Selected popular databases including Web of Science, Current Contents, Expanded Academic ASAP and ERIC now have the 'Links' button available, and the button will begin appearing in other databases throughout 2004.

The 'Links' button will work whether you are accessing the databases from on or off campus.

"As this is a new service there may be the occasional teething problem, so we'd appreciate it if library users could report problems by emailing us so we can continue to improve this service," said Mr Groenewegen.
