Printing microfilm now 17c cheaper

The cost of printing images from microfiche and microfilm has been reduced from 27 cents to 10 cents per A4 page, at the Sir Louis Matheson, Law, Caulfield, Peninsula and Hargrave-Andrew libraries.

"We are moving to make all costs, services and equipment as equitable as possible for library users, irrespective of which branch they visit,” said Library Budget Manager, David Knox.

"This reduction in price now means that any black and white print on A4 paper in the library will be charged at the same price, irrespective of the items’ original format.”

"This price reduction and the recent installation of a number of new microscanners (see related news item) has greatly enhanced access to the library’s microfilm and microfiche collections and we hope that users will be quick to reap the benefits.”

Monash Faculty of Arts PhD student, Simon Sleight, 26, was relieved to discover that his print of a newspaper article from microfilm was nearly 20 cents cheaper this week than last.
