Wireless network now at Law Library |
||
Laptop users who frequent the Law Library are now able to access the Monash network without plugging in to a wall outlet. ‘Wireless-Net’ – a facility that enables laptop users who have a registered wireless card to access the Monash network using wireless technology – has been installed in the first floor discussion room. Library staff and Law Library users alike have been eagerly awaiting the installation of this facility and are already making full use of it,” reported Law Library Manager, Lisa Smith. Library users who wish to access the Monash network in the Law Library using a laptop or PDA are advised to read the information on how to connect to the wireless network supplied by the Information Technology Services. Wireless facilities are also currently available in the Sir Louis Matheson Library, Caulfield Library, Peninsula Library and Pharmacy Library. Plans are underway to make the facility available at all branches of the library by 2005. For more information on laptop and wireless facilities in the library refer to the web page of the branch you intend to visit. 17 May 2004 |
