| Fourteen library staff will celebrate 25 years service at
Monash University Library with a ceremony to be held at the end of this
month.
The fourteen library staff are:
One of the fourteen library recipients, Mrs Elaine Allan, described the medal as “a token of appreciation from the university, for my loyalty and dedication to the library.” Mrs Allan began work in the library in 1979 typing catalogue cards for the paper-based library catalogue and has since held a number of secretarial roles in the library. Mrs Allan said the constant change and development that had characterised the past 25 years at the library and a commitment to work-related activities “outside my position description” had also contributed to the longevity of her relationship with Monash University Library. “I have enjoyed meeting and working with many wonderful library staff over the past 25 years and I think they are what has kept me working happily in the library,” Mrs Allan said. A total of 78 university staff members will receive the 25 year service medal on Thursday 30 September; the tenth occasion at which medals have been presented. Monash chancellor Mr Jerry Ellis will present this year's awards, which will also be attended by vice-chancellor Professor Richard Larkins. 17 September 2004 current news : 2008 : 2007 : 2006 : 2005 : 2004 : 2003 : 2002 : pre-2002 Ask a question Phone +61 3 9905 5054 or use our enquiry services ask.monash for Monash students and staff | ask.monash for visitors, or online chat. |
