Returning students: these changes will affect you

Welcome back returning students! Some changes:

in the catalogue

  • You log in using your Authcate username and password.
  • It shouldn't 'time out' anymore!
  • It's had a major upgrade

to borrowing rules

  • You can no longer RECALL an item on loan to another; instead you put a HOLD on it in the catalogue so the current loan can't be renewed.
  • When sending a request in the catalogue for an item held at another branch you select HOLD instead of INTER-CAMPUS LOAN.
  • Postgraduates and staff now place document delivery requests via the catalogue.
  • Undergraduates can renew loans 3 times instead of 4 times.

to computers in the library

  • The log-on for library computers looks different - it will now be faster and more stable.
  • If you want to access the student network, double-click on the NOVELL icon located on the desktop.
  • You can now use Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Greek.

to the library building

  • Wireless network access has been extended throughout all of the library's branches with the exception of Hargrave-Andrew Library which is still undergoing renovations.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions about these changes please submit them via ask.monash and we will respond within two working days.

If you need more immediate help, go to the information desk in the library or speak to a librarian via online chat .
