New entrance to Hargrave-Andrew Library

The grand new entrance to the Clayton campuses’ Hargrave-Andrew Library opened today, 27 June 2005.

The opening of the relocated entrance was a milestone in the refurbishment of the Hargrave-Andrew Library, which commenced in September 2004, said the library’s facilities manager, Ross Harrison.

“The previous entrance, off Science Walk, is now closed and signs direct people to the new entrance next to the HG Café,” said Mr Harrison.

The after hours return chutes are also now located at the new entrance.

Mr Harrison explained the entrance to the library had been relocated to create a pleasant destination that made the most of the HG Café and courtyard and substantially improved access for people with a disability.

“There is still some landscaping work to be done around the entrance and some internal construction and arranging is still underway but we are on the home stretch now, as I am sure library users will be pleased to hear!” Mr Harrison said.

Mr Harrison advised that the refurbishment would be fully completed by September 2005.
