More full-text journals and databases now online

The library has recently acquired a large number of full-text electronic journals and several new databases for areas such as pharmacy, medicine, science, art and design and law.

    • Biomed Protocols
      This is a searchable database providing access to over 11,000 time-tested and peer-reviewed biomedical and life science research protocols published in the Methods in Molecular Biology series (1984 to present) and the Methods in Molecular Medicine series (1996 to present). Subject coverage includes: biochemistry, biotechnology, genetics, informatics, microbiology, molecular and cell biology, neuroscience, oncology, PCR and proteomics.
    • Vector
      Vector is a searchable collection of online books from the Institute of Physics Publishing, offering access to all books published since 2000 together with earlier bestselling titles. It includes 88,000 pages of content from general science books, monographs, undergraduate and graduate textbooks and major reference works.
    • Faculty of 1000
      This is a new online research service that will comprehensively and systematically highlight and review the most interesting papers published in the biological sciences, based on the recommendations of a faculty of well over 1000 selected leading researchers.
    • AMICO Library
      This contains over 115,000 digital images of works of art digitized by AMICO member institutions. The AMICO membership currently includes over 30 leading museums in the United States , Canada , and the United Kingdom . From July the Catalogue of Art Museum Images Online (CAMIO) will replace this.
    • FirstPoint
      FirstPoint provides access to case references, citation, history, and digest information for Australian cases since 1825. All case material is classified to a detailed classification scheme, which can be browsed or searched to locate cases on legal topics. Information is sourced from the Australian Case Citator, Australian Digest and Australian Legal Monthly Digest.
    • TaxPoint
      This service combines more than 50 databases including:
      • news services covering the latest tax news and issues;
      • tax commentaries covering taxes such as capital gains, superannuation and fringe benefits tax;
      • analytical services covering commentary-style services for a detailed understanding of federal taxation law; and
      • source materials covering primary materials such as legislation, cases, rulings, bills and explanatory memoranda.

    Weekly lists of new resources purchased by the library are published online and updated on Monday morning every week.
