A new photocopying system will shortly be introduced at Gippsland campus, replacing the existing CopyTex system.
All photocopiers on campus will run the new system, including the three photocopiers inside the library, the photocopier at campus reception and the photocopier in the Gippsland Centre for Art & Design. This system will also be used for all printing in the library.
Among the advantages of the new system is that it is already operating on all other Monash campuses in Victoria, so photocopying credits can be transferred across campuses. Credit can be loaded onto a Monash student identification card or a photocopy card at an autoloader machine. Autoloaders will be situated outside the photocopy room on Level 1, Gippsland Library. Photocopy cards can be purchased from the autoloaders.
The cost of photocopies (and printing in the library) will increase from 8 cents to12 cents per A4 sheet when the new system is introduced. This price increase is in line with printing and photocopying costs at all other campuses and is necessary to ensure the university library offers and maintains a high quality photocopy and printing resource.
The CopyTex system will be phased out allowing time to use up credits that have already been purchased on that system. Once the Unicard system has been introduced, however, no further credits may be purchased on the CopyTex system which will be phased out during semester one of 2007.
Assistance with using the new system will be available from Gippsland Library staff. |
