Library users survey: overall performance improved |
||
| Overall satisfaction among Monash University Library users has risen to 75.3% in 2007 from 73.5% in 2005, according to results of the 2007 Library users survey. “This result moves us into the second quartile against other university libraries in Australia, which means that we are now in the top 50%. In 2005 we also jumped a quartile from the 2003 survey. Given that our colleagues in other university libraries must also be striving to improve services, this is a sustained and pleasing result,” said University Librarian, Cathrine Harboe-Ree. The survey was conducted online from 2 to 16 May 2007 and generated a total of 3993 responses. While this is lower than the 4133 responses in 2005, the figure is still the third highest response rate among the participating academic libraries in the survey. “A big thank you goes to those who responded to the survey and gave us their views. This survey allows us to identify areas that require improvement and areas of concern to our users. The Library will endeavour to address the issues raised,” said Ms Harboe-Ree.
