Welcome back and best wishes from the Library for a successful year. Keep
up-to-date with changes in library resources and services, by picking up a
copy of the 2008 Library user’s guide at your nearest branch.
Loans
- Undergraduate students can now borrow up to 20 items.
- Overdue Reserve materials will now incur a fine of 10 cents per minute but with a 15-minute grace period. This has changed from the previous $5 per hour fine. The shorter time interval is to encourage faster turnover.
- Holds will now be cancelled if items are already located at your chosen pick-up location. The fastest way to borrow the items you want is to get them off the shelf yourself.
Services
- The Library can help you with resource discovery, analysis and use; essay, report writing and oral presentation skills. Find out about classes and drop-in sessions.
- New Database information sheets are available in each branch to help users choose the right database for their task
- Students based in affiliated hospitals can register and borrow through
the hospital library. We provide a request and delivery service.
- Off-campus students can access electronic resources, avail of postal loans, and request copies of chapters/articles only available in print format.
- Help with using the Library’s resources is available through a number of formats including Online chat, ask.monash, online and printed material and in-branch assistance.

A few quick reminders
- Please do not bring any hot food into the library. Cold snack foods and drinks with lids are permitted in some areas.
- Many of the Library’s new PCs do not have floppy disk drives, so save your assignments using usb drives and cds. Many usb’s get handed in at the library every year, so please put your name on them.
