Leading the way in information research skills |
||
| Information research skills programs support
the University’s development of graduate attributes and are designed to
ensure that Monash students and staff are able to find information
effectively and efficiently. Leading the development of innovative ways of delivering this service is newly appointed Information Literacy Librarian Lyn Torres. Lyn will work closely with librarians and learning skills advisers involved in information research and learning skills programs and services from the eight branches of the library. Subject librarians liaise directly with academic staff across the ten faculties and develop collaborative programs with them. With their subject expertise, they also assist with literature reviews and give advice on managing references and effective searching. Formal programs are extended to staff through the Library and the Centre for Advanced Learning and Teaching. Lyn brings to her role broad library experience in public, corporate and educational environments at secondary and tertiary levels. Most recently she conceptualised, planned and implemented a very effective school-wide information literacy program at the Upwey High School, in conjunction with transforming the library. She has a Bachelor’s degree and a Graduate Diploma in Library Studies. 5 November 2008 current news : 2008 : 2007 : 2006 : 2005 : 2004 : 2003 : 2002 : pre-2002 Ask a question Phone +61 3 9905 5054 or use our enquiry services ask.monash for Monash students and staff | ask.monash for visitors, or online chat. |
