New SMS service for Library class bookings

In 2009, the Library is trialling a service that will send SMS notices about booked library classes directly to students’ mobile phones.

This opt-in service allows students to tick a box to receive SMS notices when they register for a library class using the booking system on the my.monash portal.

The SMS notices will include a reminder 24 hours before the scheduled library class, as well as notices confirming registration, cancellation or advising of waitlist changes.

Students have suggested reminders about library classes would be helpful as they tend to book in to classes far in advance. Information relating to each booked library class will also be emailed to a student's Monash University email address which can be accessed through my.monash.
