Australian rock music display at Matheson |
||
| Early Australian rock music is the focus of a new display on the ground floor of Sir Louis Matheson Library at the Clayton campus. The display has been set up to mark the establishment of a new collection of early Australian rock music CDs for the Library. The Music and Multimedia Collection already holds other resources in the area of Australian popular music including scores, DVDs and videos. Artists featured in the display include well-known groups like the Easybeats and ACDC as well as lesser known artists of the period such as the Purple Hearts, Atlantis, Carson, The Chimney Sweeps, Bobbie and Laurie, and Little Pattie. The collection adds a new dimension to the Library’s range of music holdings, which have a particular focus on musicology, ethnomusicology, Australian studies and performance. It is planned to build up a comprehensive collection in the area of Australian rock music to ensure that it is available for research in the future. CDs and other music recordings (cassettes and vinyl records) held by the Library can be borrowed for use within the library from the Music and Multimedia Collection loans desk on the ground floor of the Matheson Library. 5 June 2009 current news : 2008 : 2007 : 2006 : 2005 : 2004 : 2003 : 2002 : pre-2002 Ask a question Phone +61 3 9905 5054 or use our enquiry services ask.monash for Monash students and staff | ask.monash for visitors, or online chat. |
