New interactive learning tools provided by the Library

New software has been installed on all student computers in the eight Victorian branch libraries to help students improve their academic listening and speaking skills.

The Essential Academic Skills in English (EASE) Learning Tools are easy to use, interactive and engaging.

Using their headset, students can watch digital video clips, do interactive exercises at their own pace and get feedback, tips and suggestions.

The Listening to Lectures program will help students improve their understanding of the structure and academic language of lectures, lecturing styles and manners, argumentation, importance markers, and to develop their vocabulary and note-taking skills.

The Seminar Skills 1- Presentations program will teach students how to make the most of their tutorials, prepare for successful presentations, deal with questions and speak in an academic context.
