Library users survey: action plan developed |
||
| Overall satisfaction among Monash University Library users has risen to 5.46 in 2009 from 5.36 in 2007, according to results of the 2009 Library users survey. No major issues of concern were identified in the biennial survey, but a ten point action plan has been drawn up by the Library to address issues where library users indicated that improvements could be made. View the action plan, which is presented on the Library website in conjunction with the survey results. One of the key developments underway in response to user feedback is the Resource Discovery Project, under which a Library team is currently examining software solutions to replace the existing catalogue with a new more intuitive searching tool with a faster response time. Another important activity is space planning, which continues with the aim of progressively refurbishing older areas within our libraries. A new flexible learning and teaching environment will be available late this year at the Gippsland Library. Facilities and other improvements made by the Library in response to the 2007 survey may have contributed to improved satisfaction on the part of library users. An overall score of 76.1% puts its performance on the cusp of the first quartile (top 25%) when compared with other university libraries in Australia. “Given that our colleagues in other university libraries must also be striving to improve services, this is a sustained and pleasing result,” said Cathrine Harboe-Ree, University Librarian. 1 September 2009 current news : 2008 : 2007 : 2006 : 2005 : 2004 : 2003 : 2002 : pre-2002 Ask a question Phone +61 3 9905 5054 or use our enquiry services ask.monash for Monash students and staff | ask.monash for visitors, or online chat. |
