Call numbers used for English literature
Monash
University Library uses the Dewey Decimal Classification scheme to
organise books and journals. The most efficient way to locate material
in the library is to search the library catalogue, however the
following may be useful as a guide when browsing the shelves.

Call numbers between 810 - 899 differ between the Sir Louis Matheson
Library, Clayton campus, and the other branch libraries.A local
variation of the Dewey system is used at Matheson which allows literary
works to be grouped chronologically and allows the works of an authors
to be shelved together regardless of the form of the works.
